Rockets secure playoff spot prior to game in Seattle

The Kelowna Rockets have secured a spot in the Western Hockey League playoffs, despite a pair of losses this weekend.

The Rockets fell 3-2 in Portland to the Winterhawks on Saturday for their third loss in a row, and currently sit in sixth place in the Western Conference. The Rockets clinched a playoff spot on Saturday, despite their loss, because the T-Birds also lost.

Sunday night the Rockets close the weekend In Kent, WA against the Seattle Thunderbirds.

The Thunderbirds fell 4-2 in Everett to the Silvertips on Saturday night, stretching their losing skid to 17 games. Rai has scored five goals over his last four games, and leads the T-Birds with 35 goals this season.
