West Kelowna Warriors defenceman Adam Plant has made the final cut for the Team Canada West roster for this year's World Junior A Challenge.
The tournament takes place in Yarmouth, NS from November 4th-10th, 2013.
Plant is the latest Warriors player to be named to the team for the Junior A Challenge, joining former Warriors Grayson Downing and Seb LLoyd who also played for Team Canada West at the event.
Fellow Warriors David Pope, Ambrose Firkus and Lloyd didn't make the team but the Warriors contingent of four players at the tryout was an indication of the strength and depth of the West Kelowna team this year, which currently sits in first place in the BCHL Interior Division.
"It's a great honor to wear our maple leaf in international play," said added Plant. "I'm looking forward to the next two weeks, and hopefully I can use this experience to better myself as a hockey player."
While Pope, Firkus and Lloyd head back to join the Warriors, Plant will stay in Calgary with the rest of Team Canada West, before heading to Yarmouth later this week.
The Warriors next home game is this Saturday at Royal LePage Place as they play host to the Trail Smoke Eaters (7 p.m.).
