BCHL Playoffs: Warriors Win

Trevor Bailey had a goal and an assist as the Westside Warriors downed the Penticton Vees 4-1 to win its first game of the BC Hockey League best of seven series.

After a scoreless first period, Bailey opened the scoring 1:07 into the period. The Vees Logan Johnston tied the game just past the five minute mark of the second and the game was tied heading to the third.

Cole Wilson and Spencer Humphries scored as the Warriors opened up a 3-1 lead before the midway point of the third. Bailey, the 20-year-old Winfield native playing in his final year of junior eligibility, assisted on both goals.

Quinn Gould added the insurance marker and goalie Kevin Jebson stopped 37 of 38 Penticton shots.

Game four goes Saturday night in Westside. Game time is 7 p.m.
