At 89 years of age (her birthday is today), Gladys Bryan Edwards has published a novel, titled Sweet Innocence Stolen. Born in Ontario, Edwards grew up in the rural Canadian prairies through the time of The Great Depression in the 1930s. Although times were challenging, she enjoyed her family and living on the land. As a teen full of eagerness, she moved to a larger community to attend high school in preparation for a career as a nurse. Not long after, at the age of16, she experienced a trauma that lurched her onto a tumultuous ride through life. Her life story is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and its ability to find hope and joy even through the most trying of circumstances. She has lived in Kelowna for the past 22 years. The book is available at both Mosaic locations.
