It’s all about bikes: Shipping them to Guatemala, giving them to new Canadians or selling the ones that aren’t suitable for either.

Many of those for sale are thin-tired racing bikes or mountain bikes with disc brakes. These are being offered at a garage sale at St. Charles Garnier church, 3645 Benvoulin on Saturday morning, June 24.

In addition to about 30 bikes, the sale will feature freezers, leather furniture, modern dining room suite, solar cells and antiques.

About 50 sturdy bikes are required to top off a container that the local group Evangel will send to Guatemala in early July.

Bikes for the Guatemala container can be dropped off behind the church at any time.

Funds raised at the sale will support refugees and the poor in Kelowna. Some items will be placed in front of the church but many more will be in the shed at the back with the Canadian flag.
