The City of Kelowna’s annual Family Fun Day is this Sunday, May 29.
“The event has something for everyone,” said Louise Roberts, community and neighbourhood services manager. “We make the quarterly activity guide come alive by offering a variety of activities and programs for people to try out. There will also be an opportunity to learn more about the services that Active Living and Culture offers.”
Activities that are scheduled to take place include tennis, art and fitness. There’s also free swimming at the indoor pool. Plus the kids will love the bouncy castle, climbing wall and roaming entertainment.
Try making smartTRIPS to the event by taking active transportation, such as walking, cycling or transit. There will be free bike and stroller parking available at the pickleball courts.
Onsite parking at Parkinson Recreation Centre will be limited during Family Fun Day. Extra parking will be available at the old Dr. Knox Middle School site next to the Apple Bowl; parking entrance is off Burtch Road. There’s also the Basil Meikle tennis court parking lot; entrance located off of Spall Road.
Participants are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for the Kelowna Community Food Bank, which can be dropped off at the Information Station located near the front entrance.
