The eight annual CANstruction is underway this week at at Orchard Park Mall.

Three teams have constructed Canada 150 themed items with approximately 6,000 cans being used in total.

The public can vote for their favourite structure until Thursday and then go view the completed sculptures until they’re taken down on Saturday.

All of the cans used will be divided up between the Central Okanagan Food Bank and the Salvation Army Food Bank, which is a co-sponsor of the event.

Save On Foods also contributed food at a discount for the teams.

CANstruction competitions take place in over 160 cities world wide. Teams of architects, engineers, designers and schools get together to CANstruct fantastic, giant sized sculptures made entirely out of canned food.
