The first annual Ski2Tree relay race happened Saturday March 11 with six stages. The six-stage event includes snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, road and mountain biking, running and paddling and will travel from the Nordic Centre on McCulloch Road to the finish line at the Water Street boat launch in City Park.

To accommodate a transition area, one of the parking lots along the Mission Creek greenway on the southeast side of the creek on Spiers Road and KLO Road was closed to the public. Runners were running along the greenway to Lakeshore Road before making their way to City Park to travel along the promenade to the Water Street boat launch.

Local residents could follow the coverage on the Capital News’ social media accounts including Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

#Ski2Tree the final portion of the race is well underway! The paddlers are gone!
