Watch for Girl Guides of Canada selling their traditional cookies over the weekend and next week around the Central Okanagan.
The classic vanilla and chocolate sandwich cookies have been sold in B.C. since 1948.
They’re made by DARE, a family-based, Canada-owned company, in a nut-free facility and they contain no trans fat. They’re $5 a box.
Sparks, brownies, guides and senior branch members of the girls movement will be going door-to-door in the next 10 days.
If there are cookies remaining after the initial blitz, they will be available for sale by the girls in local malls until all are gone.
The funds from sales of the cookies stays in the community where it is used to provide support for the girls’ units and their programs.
