Interior Health welcomes families to join fire crews, B.C. Ambulance Society workers and hospital nurses and physicians, for a Bike Safe Clinic promoting children’s safety, health and fun.
The free clinic will take place Saturday, May 9, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot of the Kelowna Canadian Tire. The day’s events will include:
· Bike stations offering helmet fitting, bicycle tune-ups and safety instruction
· An obstacle course
· Trauma awareness tables where kids can meet emergency personnel
· Snacks, prizes and free backpacks for the first 50 kids
The Bike Safe Clinic is part of this week’s national Safe Kids Week public awareness campaign designed to raise awareness about the frequency and severity of preventable childhood injuries, which are the leading cause of death among Canadian children.
