Knox Mountain Drive partial reopening Saturday

Knox Mountain Drive will re-open the morning of March 22 for vehicles up to the first lookout.

Now that the warmer weather is upon us, the winter gate is open for vehicle traffic for park users to access the first lookout. Vehicles are restricted from accessing the upper portions of the road at this point until the weather permits a full opening.

Park users are still able to venture higher in the park by foot or bike. The first lookout gate will be open in a week or two after temperatures no longer dip below zero.

Knox Mountain Drive is open to vehicles 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and noon to 9 p.m. on Sundays. Knox Mountain Park is open daily between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.

For the safety of all park users and wildlife, dog owners are reminded that dogs must be on-leash when in the park. At the base of Knox Mountain is an off-leash dog park, where dogs are free to run and play; in all other areas please be courteous and keep your dog leashed. A maximum fine of $500 can be levied against any person not complying with these responsibilities.
