Taking the polar plunge for Special Olympians

An icy dip in a pool will help raise some cold, hard cash for Okanagan’s Special Olympians today and Saturday at the Walmart parking lot in Kelowna on Banks Road.

The Kelowna RCMP have added a new twist to their annual Free the Fuzz fundraiser for the Special Olympic athletes, calling it the Polar Plunge.

“This year, the Free the Fuzz crew is putting on a Polar Plunge event where anyone who pledges $50 or more can jump into a pool full of ice and water, a truly chilling experience.”

If you take the plunge, you will also get an exclusive t-shirt to help commemorate your cold sacrifice for the cause.

Freeze the Fuzz runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. both today and Saturday.
