Cannes Corporate Media and TV Awards chose Tourism Kelowna's "Explore More of Kelowna in All Seasons" video to receive a Silver Dolphin in the cities category.
“We are thrilled to receive this international award. We recognize and applaud the passionate work put in by our team, the featured local businesses, and videographer, which led to the creation of this award-winning video,” said Tourism Kelowna president and CEO Lisanne Ballantyne.
The award was presented during a ceremony on Sept. 26 in France. The video was one of nearly 800 submissions with only 212 making it to the shortlist.
“It was an honour to receive the news from overseas that we had won this award. The video aims to encourage people to visit and explore more of Kelowna by going behind the scenes with a tour, hearing from local business owners, and learning about the culture of the Syilx people,” said Tourism Kelowna project lead Steve Small. “We could not have completed this video without the support of our local businesses and videographer, Nic Collar, as well as the support of the District of Lake Country and Visit Westside.”
