Looking for a way to get involved? Here are 10 new opportunities.

Canadian Blood Services is looking for In-Clinic and In-Community Volunteers. By getting involved, you help save lives.

The Canadian Red Cross will train you as a Customer Service Volunteer. Clients get medical equipment and return home from hospital to recover because you are there to lend a hand.

If you speak German, like to work one-on-one and want to feel good because someone is enjoying her day more, the Good Samaritan Society wants you as a Friendly Visitor at Mountainview Village.

You could help a resident at the Spring Valley Care Centre with grocery shopping, cooking and freezing meals. Cooking for himself helps maintain independence.

Freedoms Door, a men’s recovery program, provides the vehicle for you to drive men to and from appointments that help them succeed in taking a different path in life.

Do you prefer physical labour? Karis Support Society needs a Large Donations Item Delivery and Landfill Hauler. You would work independently with flexible hours.

The Responsible Animal Care Society wants Farm Hand help with outdoor clean-up, fence building and general repair work. Are you interested?

The Kelowna Art Gallery wants you as an Opening Reception and Special Events Volunteer. You would serve food and wine, set-up, clean-up, and have fun greeting people with a smile.

Are you interested in toys? Become a Toy Loan Library Volunteer for the Kelowna Child Care Society. Clean toys, keep track of loaned items, take pictures of new toys and books as well as cull items to be discarded.

The Capital One Race for Kids is looking for volunteers with registration, volunteer headquarters, baggage checking, photography, videography, social media, help-line, checkpoints, finish-line, timers, and the celebration event.

Information about all of these positions is available at www.kcr.ca, volunteer opportunities search.
