2 Kelowna bands win spot to play in Rock the Lake

CrushXO and Lucky Monkey won Battle of the Bands

Okanagan bands battled it out for the chance to play Rock the Lake this summer outside Prospera Place.

After two nights of performances at Red Bird Brewing, the winners of Battle of the Bands were declared, CrushXO and Lucky Monkey.

During Feb. 28 and March 1, 10 bands performed for sold-out crowds as judges listened for a winner.

Dustin Pakosh the creative director at GSL Sports and Entertainment said the first-ever Battle of the Bands had “unreal energy and atmosphere at Red Bird Brewing.”

“The level of talent in the Okanagan’s rock scene is so good,” said Pakosh. “And our team couldn't be more proud to be a part of it. It caused us a problem. We couldn’t pick just one winner. So, we didn’t. We’re stoked to have both CrushXO and Lucky Monkey on board and can’t wait to see them live on the big stage at Rock The Lake."

Kelowna bands, CrushXO and Lucky Monkey will be playing a paid spot at Rock the Lake which takes place July 11-13.

The first-release three-day Festival Passes are available now for $169 + fees at rtlkelowna.com.
