Kelowna native Adam Temple is returning home to host an open exhibit of his art works.
Temple, a story artist from animated TV shows such as, Turbo F.A.S.T, Max Steel, and Fangbone, will be hosting a fine art exhibition, entitled Peaks of Interest at the Kelowna Rotary Centre for the Arts during the month of March.
The free opening for the exhibit will be on Friday, March 3rd. (7 to 10 p.m.).
Originally from Kelowna, Temple returned home after years spent in the animation industry in Toronto. In the summer of 2016, while on a climbing trip through B.C., Temple was inspired to pay homage to this incredible landscape by painting the famous peaks alpinists the world-over come to see and ascend. The exhibit features works from the great Rockies to the towering Coastal Mountains and Temple has described it as a love letter to those mountains.
Since he began climbing around Kelowna, Temple has also begun expanding the local climbing selection by putting up new routes, and his painting series will continue to serve the growing B.C. alpine community as a whole: Five per cent of all proceeds from this show will go back to the Alpine Club of Canada, to aid in the maintenance of alpine huts and lodges.
“Come out, have a drink with us, and talk mountains,” he said in promoting the exhibit. “Whether it’s climbing, skiing, hiking, snow-shoeing…we are all so lucky to be living where we are, with such a wonderful playground under our feet.”
The art show will feature 10 pieces: All acrylics on wood.
