The show featured 18 unique performances

Revelstoke Secondary School (RSS) hosted a ‘Journey in Theatre’ last night (May 24), with performances of monologues, recreated scenes from films and tv shows, and original scenes, all performed by the talented students at RSS.

After a challenging week building up to the show, Theresa Browning’s drama class managed to assemble an array of performances for Wednesday and Thursday’s shows. ‘A Journey in Theatre’ was a night of short performances by the student’s at RSS.

With 18 performances, the themes were an eclectic mix of humour, drama, and mystery. The students took inspiration from a variety of sources. From tv shows like Twin Peaks, Brooklyn 9-9, and Jane the Virgin, to movies like Silence of the Lambs and The Princess Bride, the students performed a bit of everything.

Browning left a message on the back of the programs for the students that made the evening happen, who were responsible for the acting and technical aspects of the show.

“A sincere thank you to the students who were ready and willing to rise to the occasion for the changes that needed to be made. You are all incredible,” said Browning.

There’s another night of performances at the Revelstoke Performing Arts Centre tonight (May 25). Curtain is at 7 p.m. and tickets are $5. Tonight’s showcase will be entirely different, with all new material to be performed.
