Strawberry and Champagne Festival in Kelowna.

The first-ever Strawberry and Champagne Festival took place at the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort on July 5 and 6.

The event was jam-packed both nights, with 14 different food stations serving up strawberry delights.

From strawberry sushi to strawberry glazed ribs to Strawberry and brie grilled cheese, there was a bit of something for everyone.

A group of judges were assigned to taste and compare, in order to pick the winner of the event.

Lakehouse Home Store and Cooking School were crowned winners with its roasted strawberry bruschetta scoring a perfect 15 out of 15.

In the jam competition, Dena Shultz took the gold with her strawberry jam bites.

Wines also shined at the festival, with various local wineries showcasing their sparkling.

The night also was serenaded by different violinists and musical trios, along side 10 local vendors.

“We couldn’t be more proud to be a part of this incredible community and help showcase some of the best culinary talent in the Okanagan,” said Quinn and John Perks.

The couple is the duo behind Kelowna Foodie Hub, which offers a range of resources and opportunities under one roof, “ensuring that the local food industry thrives.”

Next on the foodie hub’s agenda is the Sunset Champagne Tea Party with Anna Olson, at the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort on July 21.
