UPDATE: Motorcyclist taken to hospital for serious injuries after Highway crash

UPDATE: 3:30 p.m.

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP are currently investigating a collision between a vehicle and motorcycle that occurred on Highway 97 near Tonasket Rd, Armstrong.

On July 26, just after 10 a.m., the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision located in the 2210 block of Highway 97, Armstrong. A motorcycle and small SUV were involved in the collision. The driver of the motorcycle was air lifted to the nearest medical facility with what appeared to be serious injuries.

The highway was closed for a period of time, however it is now open to traffic.

An RCMP traffic analyst attended the scene to conduct further investigation and the North Okanagan Traffic Services has now taken lead of the file.

No further information will be release.

UPDATE: 2:10 p.m.

Highway 97 is now open 20 kilometres north of Vernon following an accident earlier this afternoon.

The accident is north of Tonasket Road.

No other details are available and DriveBC is reporting no detours are available.
