Better at Home Program comes to Central Okanagan

Services available to Kelowna seniors at this time include light housekeeping, light yard work and minor home repairs.

The Central Okanagan Better at Home Program is now offering services to seniors 65 and over who are living independently and could benefit from receiving non-medical home supports.

The Better at Home program is funded by the provincial government, managed by the United Way of the Lower Mainland, and coordinated by local agencies.

The Seniors Outreach & Resource Centre in Kelowna is the lead agency for the Central Okanagan.

The services that are available in Kelowna at this time include light housekeeping, light yard work, and minor home repairs.

The service fees are assessed on a sliding scale.

This is a great program, especially for seniors with lower incomes who would not be able to access these services otherwise.

Please note that the Central Okanagan Better at Home also includes Lake Country, Peachland and West Kelowna, with those areas coordinated by the local agencies in each community. The contact numbers are Seniors Outreach & Resource Centre in Kelowna: 250-861-6180
