Showcase of UBCO student filmmakers

Short films from a wide range of genres will be showcased Thursday, May 5.

UBCO is celebrating its creative community by initiating the Student Okanagan Film Festival—SOFF.

SOFFIn this, it’s inaugural year, SOFF begins a tradition of showing works by emerging student filmmakers of the Okanagan Valley.

The screening will take place at the Landmark Cinemas Grand 10 on Thursday, May 5 at 7 p.m. Short films from a wide range of genres will be showcased, including mini-documentary, experimental, music videos, animation, short narrative and more.

Admission is by donation.

Funding for SOFF is provided in part by the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies and the Irving K. Barber School of Arts and Sciences at the University of B.C.’s Okanagan campus.
