The film’s Canadian distributor, Indiecan Entertainment, and the production company, Trilight Entertainment, will donate proceeds from this screenings to the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club.
Along with the movie screening players from the Okanagan Sun football team will be onsite greeting everyone and giving away tickets to the BC Football Conference semi-final playoff game against Langley Rams at the Apple Bowl on Oct. 16 to the first 100 people who come out to enjoy the movie.
“The money raised will help fund the critical programs and services our Clubs provide to children and youth across the Okanagan,” said Okanagan Boys and Girls Club chief executive officer Diane Entwistle.
“We also appreciate the commitment of the Sun players in helping us make this an exciting day for everyone.”

To See or Not to See is a powerful story of wounding, overcoming, courage and healing.
Employing the circular motif of a shamanic quest as frame, Ruth Bieber’s first play is full of insight about what it’s like to have a vision disability as a child, a woman, a mother and a professional —and about the more hidden disabilities of those around her.
The play is dramatic, at times very humorous and at other points shocking.
The Oct. 21 debut will include American Sign Language for members of the deaf community.
The Oct. 22 matinee will include audio description for blind audience members.
Both of those performances will be followed by a question and answer session with the playwright and others.

A powerful duo comprised of guitarist-vocalist Johnny Fox and drummer-singer, Renee Couture, The Standstills deliver a unique strain of rock’nroll.
The duo’s fourth EP, Out From The Devil’s Porch, a blend of what they call “juke-joint hoodoo, British blues bombast, cowbell-thwack boogie and modern-rock swagger.”
“That’s what we’ve learned from all the shows we’ve played and how we’ve seen crowds react. When we hit that groove and see everybody get locked in with us, that’s it. That’s exactly what we want to do and where we want to be,” Fox said.
“That’s doing it right. Hitting that groove and taking that simpler approach makes everything way stronger.
“When people hear us for the first time and find out we’re a duo, they find it shocking that we create such a big sound.”

Songs of the Southern Belles is a concert celebrating the melodies and lyrics of an age when country music reigned throughout the airwaves and local dances, set in the traditional style of the Grand Ole Opry.
Singers Anna Jacyszyn and Kinga Heming will relive the stories told through songs originally sung by Nashville Royalty like Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn.
Under the music direction of Sean Bray and Loni Moger, the concert promises to be a walk through country music nostalgia.

The Rocky Horror Show is a musical with music, lyrics and book by Richard O’Brien.
A humorous tribute to the science fiction and horror B movies of the late 1940s through to the early ‘70s, the musical tells the story of a newly engaged couple getting caught in a storm and coming to the home of a mad transvestite scientist unveiling his new creation, a sort of Frankenstein-style monster in the form of an artificially made, fully grown, physically perfect muscle man named Rocky Horror, complete “with blond hair and a tan.”
The original London production of the musical premiered at the Royal Court Theatre in June 1973, running for a total of 2,960 performances at several theatres in London before closing in September 1980.
Its 1974 U.S. debut in Los Angeles had a successful nine-month run but its 1975 Broadway debut at the Belasco Theatre lasted only three previews and 45 showings despite earning one Tony nomination and three Drama Desk nominations.
Various international productions have since spanned across six continents as well as West End and Broadway revivals and eight UK tours.
The musical was adapted into the cult classic 1975 film The Rocky Horror Picture Show, starring Richard O’Brien as Riff Raff, which has the longest-running release in film history.
The musical was ranked eighth in a BBC Radio 2 listener poll of the “Nation’s Number One Essential Musicals.”

Ziggy Marley’s has so far created a profile of a six-time Grammy winner, Emmy winner, humanitarian, singer, songwriter and producer.
His early immersion in music came at age 10 when he sat in on recording sessions with his father, Bob Marley.
As front man to Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers, the group released eight best-selling albums that garnered three Grammys, with such chart-topping hits as “Look Who’s Dancing,” “Tomorrow People” and “Tumbling Down.”
Ziggy’s first solo album, Dragonfly was released in 2003 followed by Love is My Religion, which won a Grammy in 2006 for Best Reggae Album.
His third solo album, Family Time, scored him a 5th Grammy award for Best Children’s Album.
In 2011, Marley released his fourth studio album Wild And Free, which earned him another Grammy nomination, along with penning his first comic book, titled Marijuanaman.

Our Lady Peace and I Mother Earth featuring Edwin, will make a stop in Kelowna has part of a cross-Canada tour this fall.

Having toured together in the mid-1990s for their breakthrough albums, Naveed (OLP) and Dig (IME), both bands are excited to reunite 20 years later on tour together.
“We’ve always had immense respect for IME,” said Our Lady Peace frontman Raine Maida.
“From their very first album Dig, the tour that followed and the Edgefests after that they solidified themselves as a seminal CDN rock band.
“To share the stage again is exciting both for our common fans & selfishly for us as well.”
“We’re really excited to be going back out on the road with our friends in OLP,” added I Mother Earth drummer Christian Tanna.
“This is something we discussed last year at a show we played together...that it felt `right.’ Both bands have amazing fans that have been with us from the beginning.
“We actually toured together on our debut albums and have been friends ever since. When Edwin rejoined IME to do the anniversary shows for our album Scenery and Fish, we thought this would be a great way to do something fun for our fans, our friends and ourselves.”
Over their 25-year career, Our Lady Peace—consisting of Maida, Duncan Coutts and Steve Mazur—have won four Juno awards and , 10 Much Music Video Awards.
The group’s second album, Clumsy, sold more than a million units in Canada alone, qualifying it for the almost-impossible-to-attain Diamond Award, the only alteranative-rock album in Canadian history ever to reach that level.
Brothers Christian and Jagori Tanna met vocalist Edwin in the early ‘90s, spawning one of Canada’s most critically acclaimed bands.
I Mother Earth ended an eight year hiatus in 2012 with two sold out shows at Toronto’s Sound Academy, and in 2016 announced the return of original vocalist Edwin, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band’s benchmark album Scenery and Fish.

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of his landmark album, Passion and Warfare, guitarist Steve Vai has embarked on a world tour that will bring him to two stops in B.C., the concert in Kelowna and anotherin Nanaimo.
currently in Europe on the first leg of his very special world tour celebrating one of the greatest instrumental rock guitar recordings of all time.
In this tour, Vai will perform the entire Passion and Warfare record from top to bottom, with some very special surprises in thrown in.

Raffi is a singer, songwriter, producer, author, lecturer, and tireless advocate for children.
He is best known for his work as a children’s entertainer whose string of gold and platinum-selling recordings in North America includes his classic song, “Baby Beluga.”
Written up as “the most popular children’s singer in the English-speaking world” by the Washington Post and “Canada’s all time children’s champion” by the Toronto Star, Raffi is also a recipient of the Order of Canada and the United Nations’ Earth Achievement Award.
He has never advertised to children or made any commercial endorsements aimed at kids. His commitment to treating his young fans with respect changed society’s outlook on music made for children.
“It’s fun to be singing for children and families again,” said Raffi. “As well as singing many of my fans’ favourites, I look forward to haring a song or two from Love Bug and my new album, Owl Singalong.”

Cook’s new album features music influences from the Middle East, South America and Spain.

Culture Club were one of the biggest pop bands of the ‘80s, racking up seven straight Top 10 hits in the UK and nine Top 10 singles in the U.S., while flamboyant lead singerBoy George became a cultural phenomenon.
Along with his cross-dressing fashion style and heavy make-up, Boy George was also noted noted for his biting wit.
Culture Club grew out of the ashes of Sex Gang Children, a band formed by George and bassist Mikey Craig. Drummer Jon Moss and guitarist Roy Hay came on board, and by 1981 the band had been renamed.
Early in 1982, a deal was signed with Virgin Records, but success eluded them until the release of their third single, Do You Really Want To Hurt Me.
The band’s U.S. success followed early in 1983 with the release of the single I’ll Tumble 4 Ya gained frequent airplay on MTV.
With the followup release of the group’s second album Colour By Numbers in the fall of ‘83, Culture Club was established as one of the top selliing music groups at the time, fueled by the popularity of the lead single Karma Chameleon.
Culture Club’s popularity peaked with the release of their third album in ‘84, Waking Up With The House On Fire.

The 2016 Just For Laughs Comedy Tour will be headlined by comedian and actor Dane Cook, joined by his comic buddies Vinny Fasline and John Campanelli.

Cook has become one of the largest ticket sellers among today’s group of comedians perfoming on stage, one of his career highlights being his two sold out shows in one night at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Cook has released eight comedy albums/specials and in 2006, his special Retaliation became the highest charting comedy album in 28 years, earning him a place alongside best-selling comedy vets George Carlin and Steve Martin.
He has guest starred in popular TV shows like Louie and Workaholics on The Comedy Network.
Some of his other film credits include starring roles in My Best Friend’s Girl with Kate Hudson, Dan In Real Life opposite Steve Carrell and Mr. Brooks with Kevin Costner.
Cook also recently reprised his role as the voice of “Dusty” in Disney’s animated film Planes: Fire & Rescue, the sequel to Planes, which grossed over $219 million.

Roger Hodgson is an English musician, singer and songwriter, best known as the former co-frontman and founding member of progressive rock band Supertramp.[
Hodgson composed and sang many of Supertramps big hits during the 1970s and early ‘80s, including “Dreamer,” “Give a Little Bit,” “Breakfast in America,” “Take the Long Way Home,” “The Logical Song” and “It’s Raining Again.”
He departed Supertramp in 1983 and moved his family away from the Los Angeles music scene to live a simpler lifestyle close to nature and be home with his children as they were growing up.
Hodgson returned to touring in 2001 as a solo performer an continuing to record albums on his own.
Hodgson along with Rick Davies were the creatuve forces behind Supertramp, a band that first found popularity in Canada before finally getting noticed in the U.S.
Crime of the Century was released in 1974, considered one of the best progressive rock albums of all time.
That was followed up by subsequent albums Crisis? What Crisis?, Even in the Quietest Moments, Breakfast In America and Famous Last Words.
In 1981, Hodgson moved his family from Los Angeles to northern California, where he built a home studio and began his solo recording career, with his first album producing the hit Had A Drean (Sleeping with The Enemy).

Escape Artists by Wanda Lock and Rena Warren

Has something escaped? This may be a question that comes to mind when visitors first enter the new garden installed at the Kelowna Art Gallery.
Local artists Wanda Lock and Rena Warren are behind the transformation of the art gallery’s open-air Rotary Courtyard space as part of the Artist’s Garden Project series.
The exhibit includes a wagon that looks old and abandoned, and is now overgrown with plants—it might remind visitors of the kind that once transported exotic animals around as part of a circus caravan.
The installation is fittingly named Escape Artists and the space is filled with all kinds of wonders for visitors to discover—massive chains and shackles, a mysterious door suspended 10 feet up a solid stone wall, urns with richly-coloured Japanese Maples, curious old metallic bed frames that border the pentagon-shaped mound where the wagon sits, and sculptural elements, climbing plants, and more.
The installation will remain open through the spring of 2017.
Lock grew up in the Okanagan and studied art at the Emily Carr College of Art and Design in Vancouver.
Warren has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Victoria and has been exhibiting her work and teaching art in the Okanagan since 1995.
