Spring is in the air and the Community Recreational Initiative Society (CRIS) is gearing up to begin its Adaptive Outdoor Programming.
They offer hiking, cycling and kayaking using adaptive equipment suitable for participants with physical and/or mental challenges.
The group welcomes young and old alike to the programs. Outings are scheduled five days a week and some evenings in Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton and West Kelowna parks. Outings last approximately two and a half hours each, and the season lasts as long as weather permits.
CRIS is looking for volunteers with a passion for the outdoors and a keen interest in helping others. Volunteers do what they enjoy, when want to do it!
“At CRIS we listen…and we want to keep you happy and engaged every time you come on one of our outings!”
Whether you want to volunteer for an outing, maybe you are mechanically inclined, prefer yard work, or enjoy washing vehicles—put your expertise to work with CRIS.
Volunteer candidates are offered flexible dates and times in an environment that inspires inclusion. Newbies welcome, enjoyment guaranteed!
“If you want to experience the heartfelt gratification that comes by helping others, if you would like to experience nature the way it was intended, if you’d like to come out and have some fun and a good belly laugh then take a trip to our website, www.adaptiveadventures.ca and see why we love what we do!”
