Reside began her career in the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra as second flute at the age of 19. She received her formal training with Timothy Hutchins at McGill University in Montreal, and continued her training at the Banff Centre for the Arts.Reside is currently the Principal Flute of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, a position she has held since 2004, and is a proud member of the Vancouver-based Standing Wave Ensemble. She recently joined the Seattle Symphony as Principal Flute for their 2013-2014 season. She teaches at the University of British Columbia, as well as at the Vancouver Academy of Music.
