2 men at large after ditching stolen truck and trailer in Kelowna

UPDATE 3:20 p.m.

Kelowna RCMP are on the lookout for two men who allegedly stole a truck and trailer sometime early Thursday morning (Sept. 28).

According to police, a 1998 Dodge truck with a trailer attached to it was witnessed turning onto Spiers Road near Berard Road, when it crashed into the ditch. The truck was seen leaving the scene, however, the heavily damaged trailer was left behind.

An RCMP canine unit tracked the suspects to a nearby orchard, however, due to area conditions and workers in the area the men were able to escape.

Both the truck and trailer were seized by the RCMP. The investigation remains ongoing.



A stolen truck could be on the loose in Kelowna.

On Thursday morning, a reported stolen trailer was found in a ditch on Spiers Road in East Kelowna.

According to those on scene the trailer was dumped in the ditch, with no truck attached. The trailer suffered significant damage.

The Kelowna RCMP are apparently searching the area for the truck. A tow truck has recovered the trailer from the ditch.
