Power is out to more than 1,800 BC Hydro customers

What appears to be a single vehicle collision that sparked a fire has caused a power outage for more than 1,800 BC Hydro customers along Westside Road, Monday evening.  Those in the area north of Birdie Lake Drive to west of Old Kamloops Road are in the dark.  The power has been off since just before 6:30 p.m. The fire has been doused according to witnesses in the area. A helicopter was seen landing and then departing the scene just after 7 p.m. BC Hydro crews are on site, however, there is no estimated time of restoration.
