Crews battle house fire in Kelowna

Police and fire crews were alerted to the blaze early Sunday (May 12) morning

Kelowna fire crews battled a house fire that sparked early Sunday (May 12) morning on Rutland’s Wallace Road.

Smoke was seen billowing from the home as firefighters arrived on scene.

RCMP were also on scene.

The road was blocked by emergency vehicles, at the time.

Damage to the home has made it not safe for fire investigators or BC Coroners Service to enter to confirm if the resident of the home died in the fire, as reports had been made a man may have perished inside.

Kelowna RCMP are asking for anyone with dash camera or security footage capturing the Wallace Road fire between 4 and 5 a.m. to reach out with file number 2024-25125.
