The West Kelowna RCMP has increased traffic enforcement in the Peachland area after residents voiced their concerns of excessive speeding in the community.
“We recognize the citizens of Peachland voiced their concerns over the lack of traffic enforcement in a recent community survey, and we’ve stepped up our patrols in response.” said Sgt. Brendan Dolan of the West Kelowna RCMP Detachment.
The RCMP reports that there was a 566 per-cent increase in speeding tickets issued from November to January in Peachland. When asked for more information, the RCMP said that it will not be releasing the actual ticket numbers.
“Please drive responsibly and relative to the conditions, as we will be continuing enhanced patrols in the area," said Dolan.
