UPDATE: 3:00 p.m.
A man has been apprehended after being involved in two incidents in West Kelowna.
At approximately, 12:30p.m. on Oct. 18, the man drove through a fence into a yard on Hawthorne Road. According to Supt. Kara Triance, the man then fled on foot.
Triance said that the man then reportedly locked himself in a porta-potty on Skyline Road with a weapon shortly before 2p.m.
The man, and RCMP officers on the scene, were reportedly yelling, according to police and witnesses on the scene.
Witnesses also told Capital News that they heard a loud bang, which they believe to have been from a gunshot.
Triance was unable to confirm this but did say that the man was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
Also today, at approximately 1:45 p.m. police responded to an incident incident at the 700 Block of Harvey Ave. RCMP say that the Kelowna and West Kelowna incidents are related.
The incidents in Kelowna and West Kelowna are no longer considered active and all residents can return to their normal activities.
However, police will remain on the scene of the incident on Harvey Ave. and West Kelowna to continue the investigations.
UPDATE: 2:30p.m.
Police tape and yellow cones are blocking off a section of Skyline Road in West Kelowna.
Witnesses on the scene said that a man had locked himself in a porta-potty on Skyline Rd. The man was allegedly yelling from the porta-potty and may have had a weapon.
Others claim that they heard a loud bang, that may have been a gunshot. The man was then taken away from the scene by an ambulance.
Boucherie Road has been re-opened to the public.
One person told Black Press Media, that Skyline is known to be a very quiet street.
UPDATE: 2p.m.
RCMP are now on the scene of an unfolding incident in West Kelowna.
Police say that the incident is related to the police presence on the 700 Block of Harvey Avenue from earlier today.
Mounties have blocked Boucherie Road from Hudson Road to Andres Road. An ambulance has left the barricaded area.
The RCMP said that the investigation in West Kelowna is active and may result in traffic disruptions. Police are reminding the public to remain out of the area.
Police also continue to investigate the incident that took place at a residence on Harvey Ave.
Businesses and a school near the incident on Harvey Ave. have been given the “all-clear” by police.
UPDATE: 1:45 p.m.
Saucier Avenue is now open and RCMP are clearing the scene.
Central School on Richter was put on a ‘hold and secure’ for several hours while police were in the area. Parents are reporting online that classes have resumed just before 2 p.m.

RCMP have been on scene for at least an hour.
One lane of Harvey Avenue is closed eastbound as two police vehicles block the road.
The Petro Canada gas station on Harvey is also closed down and blocked off.
Officers were also seen with rifles at 745 Harvey.
It’s unclear why police shut the road, however, they told a journalist on scene that there was an incident unfolding.
