The message from BC Highway Patrol (BCHP) for the May long weekend, and the entire summer, is for motorists to drive safe and sober.
BCHP will conduct impaired driving enforcement over the entire summer.
“This will include impaired driving check stops and we’ll be looking for aggressive and dangerous drivers,” said Const. James Ward.
Police urge motorists to be mindful of other road users, pedestrians, cyclists and motorcycles.
“Please take your time, be patient, and remember not everyone has the same driving experience or ability,” Ward added. “Let’s work together to keep the roads safe and reduce injuries or fatalities.”
Call 911 to report impaired or dangerous drivers, and if possible try to obtain a license plate.
