A teen riding a scooter was hit by a vehicle at Highway 33 and Hollywood Road South on Monday afternoon.
The boy was placed in the care of BC Ambulance and taken to hospital. It is unclear the extent of the 14-year-old’s injuries.
The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and appeared to be cooperating with the RCMP.
The westbound lanes of Highway 33 are blocked along with the left lane turning east onto Highway 33 and all westbound traffic on Highway 33 is being detoured into the Willow Park Plaza while emergency crews are on scene.
Traffic is backing up in both directions on Highway 33.
At least five RCMP vehicles are on scene, with officers taking statements from witnesses.
