For the third consecutive year, the West Kelowna Warriors are paying tribute to their fans from Peachland.
On Saturday, Jan. 27 when the Warriors host the Chilliwack Chiefs, they’ll be hosting their annual Peachland Warriors night.
The team will be wearing their Peachland jerseys and students from Peachland Elementary will each be receiving a free ticket. The team will be going to Peachland Elementary on Tuesday, Jan. 23 to play floor hockey with the students.
“We are looking forward to the Peachland Warriors game and the week leading up to it,” said Mayor Patrick Van Minsel. “Including the team visit to Peachland Elementary school on Tuesday, we encourage all Peachland residents to attend the game and cheer on the Warriors.”
Additionally, the 50/50 at the game will benefit the Peachland Lions Club.
“The Peachland version of the Warriors is a perfect 2-0,” Van Minsel added, “We look forward to keeping that undefeated streak alive.”
In 2021 and 2022, the Warriors wore the jerseys against Prince George, winning 5-0 and 4-3.
The special peach-coloured jerseys will be available for auction throughout the game.
Puck drop at Royal LePage Place on Saturday, Jan. 27 is at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available.
