Access your potential in right brain workshop

In today’s world of technology, driven by subtle social conditioning and financial survival, the left brain has become dominant over the right.

Philosopher Carl Jung warned at the beginning of the last century that humanity was becoming a cognitive being. In today’s world of technology, driven by subtle social conditioning and financial survival, the left brain has become dominant over the right.

The neurologist Damasio redefined the brain in 1995 by pinpointing and defining EQ—Emotional Quotient—as our intuition, common sense and our ever-present silent witness.

Our existential awareness of feelings are all housed within our right brain. If I were facing you right now these words would only account for seven per cent of the communication.

But my body language would account for 58 per cent and my tonality and eye contact 37 per cent. This is where humanity’s brilliance lies.

As Einstein stated: “Imagination is more important than knowledge.”

In a two-day workshop to be held in Kelowna, participants will learn how to practice attunement to what your highest intelligence perceives, learning how to:

• Create a communication climate that promotes creativity

• Integrate differences of opinion through “functional subgrouping” to build healthy relationships with family, community and organizations

• Differentiate systems-centeredness from self-centeredness

• Develop a sense of empowerment through collective consciousness.

The two day workshop is May 21 and 22, from 9 to 4:30 p.m., at the Kelowna Public Library, 1380 Ellis St. The registration fee is $150, $100 for students.

Arrive at the workshop by 8:45 a.m., as the doors will close at 9 a.m.—no exceptions, no refunds.

There will be a pot-luck lunch, so bring a dish to share. For more information call 250-869-0171.
