Two men have been charged in connection with two of the three separate BMO bank robberies this summer.

On Thursday, Aug. 8, RCMP responded to a report of a robbery at the Bank of Montreal located at 1141 Harvey Avenue.

An unknown man entered the bank advising the teller that he had a weapon and passed a note asking for a large sum of money.

Sean Cavanagh, 27, was arrested on Burtch Road near Springfield Road and has since been charged with robbery.

Further investigation revealed the identity of a second suspect, who police also linked to a previous robbery that occurred on Friday, July 19, at another BMO, located at 3155 Lakeshore Road.

On Saturday, Aug. 17, police arrested Joshua Friesen, 19, in relation to both robberies and he has since been charged with two counts of robbery.

Friesen and Cavanagh both remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in court later this month. The third robber, which saw the BMO at 1875 Dilworth Drive hit on Monday, July 22, has yet to be solved.
