The BC Coroners Service confirmed Jenessa Kelly Brown, 19, was found dead in her Kelowna home July 27.

An autopsy has been completed; however, the cause of her death has not been confirmed pending further examinations, including toxicology analysis.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate the death. A coroner’s report will be issued at the conclusion of the investigation.

Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Kris Clark has been quoted in the media as saying foul play has been ruled out, but he wouldn’t comment on whether or not Brown’s death is connected to a previous teen death.

Six days after Brown died, 17-year-old Marissa Ginter was found dead in her bed. Ginter’s death has been linked by members of the community to drugs. A toxicology report is pending.
