Camps filling fast

Still some room in day camps for kids while school teachers remain out of class.

The City of Kelowna’s Active Living and Culture division is offering two sport and activity day camps for kids currently out of school because of the teachers’ dispute.

The day camp at the Parkinson Recreation Centre will run until kids are back to school. Participants, 6 to 12, can be dropped off at 7:30 a.m. and picked up by 5:15 p.m. The cost is $165 per week or $40 per day.

Starting next week, there will also be a day camp at the Kinsmen Fieldhouse, 3975 Gordon Dr. Participants, 5 to 12, can be dropped off between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. and picked up between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The cost is $150 for the week.

Parents are encouraged to register as camps are filling up fast. Register in person at the Rec Centre, by phone at 250-469-8800 or online at kelowna.ca/recreation.
