Someone is lucky to be not seriously hurt following a single car accident on Springfield Road today.
The car, a Mazda 626 with an N sticker on the back window, was found this morning sitting on the hillside against a cement abutment.
Judging by the tire tracks, the car was headed north where Springfield turns uphill when it veered off the road, over the curb and was launched along the step embankment, just missing both a streetlight and hydro pole.
The car suffered minimal damage to the front end, and appeared to have been abandoned after coming to a halt.
The investigation by police is continuing.
