The Central Okanagan is the third fastest growing school district in the province, according to the B.C. government.
Between September of 2018 and 2019, 377 new students were enrolled at one of the district’s schools.
That number is significantly higher than the anticipated enrollment numbers given by the district last summer.
In August, the district projected 350 new students would be added in the 2019-2020 school year.
Compared to other areas, the Central Okanagan is growing faster than the Langley School District, which added 336 new students between Sept. 2018 and 2019.
The Surrey School District had the highest enrollment increase across the province adding an additional 1,039 students.
