Cyclist killed in collision

Police ask motorists to avoid accident scene on Banks Road between Highway 97 and Baron Road.

Kelowna RCMP are in the early stages of dealing with a fatal collision involving a cyclist near the intersection of Banks Road and Baron Road this afternoon.

Emergency crews are currently on the scene of a fatal collision involving a cyclist. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is co-operating with police.

Banks Road between Highway 97 and Baron Road is closed at this time to allow police to examine the scene. An RCMP collision reconstructionist has been called to the scene.

RCMP are asking the public to avoid the area.
