While crews are continuing their work on the slide area on Highway 97 north of Summerland, no road closures are anticipated over the Victoria Day long weekend.

The provincial Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure said no road closures are scheduled from Friday, May 18 until Tuesday, May 21 to accommodate long weekend traffic.

Construction work will continue and delays of up to 10 minutes may be necessary.

The ministry said delays will occur only during non-peak hours.

Information on the road closure is available through DriveBC and online at gov.bc.ca/gov/content/transportation-projects/other-transportation-projects/south-okanagan-summerland-rockslide.

The road work is being done following a rock slide just north of Summerland in late August, 2023.
