After a 7 a.m. departure from YLW, a three hour flight to California, a 20 minute bus ride to Disneyland and over six hours with Mickey and the gang, 64 children shouldn’t have too much trouble falling asleep tonight.
The Dreamlift crew arrived in Kelowna just before 12 a.m. on Tuesday evening.
Before departing John Wayne International Airport, several members of the Orange County Sherriff’s Department—who helped escort the children through the Disneyland theme park—had to say goodbye to their new friends.
Many described the experience as “emotional.”
In Kelowna, anxious parents were quick to hug their kids; the children were quick to tell stories to their parents.
