Eights teens were taken to hospital with varying degrees of injury following a single vehicle rollover crash on Postill Lake Road in the Ellison Area Saturday evening.

On September 24, 2016 at 8:02 pm, emergency services crews responded to a report of a single vehicle rollover crash with injuries in the 8400 block of Postill Lake Road in the Ellison area. A northbound late model Ford F-150 pickup truck, travelling down the centre of the gravel roadway, attempted to move to the right to pass an oncoming vehicle when the driver failed to properly negotiate a curve. The pickup truck, which had two passengers inside the cab and six more in the bed of the truck, flipped onto its roof.

All eight vehicle occupants, male teens who ranged in age from 16-18, were transported to hospital for treatment of injuries which ranged from minor to serious, however all believed to be non-life threatening in nature.

“Preliminary findings indicate that neither, alcohol or drugs are believed to be contributing factors in this crash,” says Cst. Jesse O’Donaghey. “RCMP suspect that driver inexperience may have played a role, and perhaps road conditions which may have been wet and slippery at the time,” adds O’Donaghey.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing at this time, charges have not yet been laid
