Figure skating stars hit the ice in Vernon

A large crowd took in the Holiday Festival on Ice at Kal Tire Place Sunday.



A large crowd took in the Holiday Festival on Ice at Kal Tire Place Sunday.

The event featured Kurt Browning, a four-time world figure skating champion, Guinness World Records holder and Canadian Sports Hall of fame inductee. Approximately 2,500 fans turned out for the show.

Also on the ice were 2014 U.S. Olympic gold medalists Meryl Davis and Charlie White, world champion Yuka Sato of Japan, along with Canadian Kaetlyn Osmond, Canadian national silver medalist Sean Sawyer, two-time Russian Olympic pairs gold medalist Ekaterina (Katia) Gordeeva and Canadian Olympic bronze medalist Jeffrey Buttle.

Holiday Festival on Ice was a fundraiser for the North Okanagan Youth and Family Services Society.
