UPDATE: Homeowners keep fire at bay in Oyama garage

Fire crews are reportedly on scene of a structure fire on Broadwater Road

Update: 7: 30 p.m.

A fire fully engulfed a home’s garage on Broadwater Road. The homeowners smelled smoke and were able to keep the fire from spreading to the home with fire extinguishers, according to fire chief Steve Windsor.

No injuries were reported and early estimates of the damages, range in about $150,000.

The cause of the fire is still undetermined.

Fire crews are reportedly headed to a blaze in Lake Country.

According to witnesses the fire started in the garage on a property on Broadwater Road and spread to a nearby structure.

At least two fire engines have been called out to the scene, just off of Oyama Road.
