FireSmart Family Day for West Kelowna

Takes place May 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fire Hall No. 31

West Kelowna Fire Rescue is hosting FireSmart Family Day on May 27.

Activities planned for the day include a kids zone, tips on protecting your home from wildfire, learning about emergency preparedness and the FireSmart program.

Kids can also meet Sparky the Fire Dog, Ember the FireSmart Fox as well as local firefighters. Spraying a firehose and checking out engines and equipment will also be part of the fun.

Residents are asked to please support the local food bank by bringing a non-perishable food donation.

Activities take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fire Hall No. 31, 3651 Old Okanagan Highway.

The highway will be closed between Drought and Apollo Roads from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to accommodate the event.

Access to all area businesses and residences will be maintained.
