Kelowna’s Gospel Mission is embarking on an awareness campaign for one of its long-running programs.

Known as Harmony House, the mission has been running a women’s recovery house with room for 13 patients for the past 21 years in Kelowna.

The program is completely full and has a waiting list for clients who receive counselling and information on ways to recover from alcholism and homelessness.

Many of the women that come to the Gospel Mission are dealing with spousal abuse, so it is critical to have a safe place for them to be among only other women going through similar experiences, said Michael Morrison of the Gospel Mission, noting Harmony House and an associated Shiloh House are both staffed with female workers only.

Some of the tools offered, in the recovery program include wellness plans, weekly exercise programs, counselling, job training, employment assistance, conflict resolution, and bible studies.

Morrison says the organization is currently searching for corporate sponsors to help run the programs. You can email him by clicking here.
