The ‘grandson’ scam, that targets seniors, has been making its rounds again in the area.

A senior couple lost more than $4,600 to a scammer, who pretended to be their grandson who needed the money to bail himself out of trouble.

The 67-year-old female victim wired the money through Western Union, on July 5, to a Western Union address in Montreal.

The suspect then called the victim back the next day asking for an additional $3,700.

This time the victim became suspicious and called police but not before losing the money she had already sent.
