The woman charged with stealing from a high school band fundraising account has pleaded guilty.

Court records indicate Elizabeth Sherwood, 47, pleaded guilty to theft over $5,000 on Tuesday.

It is one of three charges laid against Sherwood after a lengthy investigation that began after Okanagan Mission Secondary school staff noticed unauthorized activity in the school band parents’ program fundraising account in 2010/2011, RCMP said in February.

In all, nearly $23,000 was discovered to be missing.

Sherwood is the former treasurer of the fundraising account.

She’s scheduled to return to court Aug. 13 to set a sentencing date.
