The Kelowna Fire Department was called upon at 5:15 p.m. to respond to a report of a climber having fallen down a cliff in the area of Crawford Falls in the Crawford Estates area of the Mission.

The injured climber had fallen about 30-feet and landed on some rocky terrain when reached by four members of the high angle rescue team.

A helicopter was requested to assist with getting the hiker to safety, but that attempt was aborted as the high angle rescue personnel were able to get the hiker to safe ground for transport to Kelowna General Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Details of the identity of the hiker and the extent of the injuries suffered is not known at this time.
