Kelowna airport selfie could win you tickets to the RBC Cup

Kelowna International Airport wants to see you with a large hockey decal it has installed on the floor of its arrivals area.

As a record number of passengers fly through Kelowna International Airport they might be a little surprised to see a very large decal of a hockey player holding a championship cup on the arrivals floor.

It’s not something you see every day at the airport but it’s there because YLW is a sponsor of the 2014 RBC Cup, being held in Vernon next month from May 10  to 18.

For a chance to win a full-event ticket package, which includes all 10 preliminary round games, two semifinals and the championship game, the airport is inviting members of the the public to take photos of themselves with the RBC Cup floor decal. The value of the prize is valued at $239.

Once a “selfie” has been taken with the decal, which is located on the arrivals floor, it has to be posted on Instagram, naming the Kelowna International Airport as the location and using the hash-tag #YLWRBCCup.

Photos must be posted before 10 p.m. May 6 and the winner’s photo will be randomly drawn on May 7.

If you are just popping in to take the photograph, parking is free for the first 15 minutes  in the airport’s short-term parking lot.
